BMW will soon offer new performance parts for the 1 Series and 3 Series — and they will be showcased at the Geneva auto show next week.
The parts will be sold and installed by BMW-authorized outlets, and thereby covered under warranty.
Some are just for looks, others are functional and some serve both purposes. They include:
a 1 Series aerodynamic kit with black high-gloss
double-kidney grille,
carbon-fiber rear spoiler and diffuser,
dual chrome exhaust pipes with silencer,
carbon-fiber mirror caps,
double-spoke 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels,
six-piston fixed-caliper brakes in yellow,
lowered sport suspension,
carbon-fiber strut brace,
air-intake system for better power and efficiency,
multifunction steering wheel in Alcantara and
leather with LED display at top (shows
lateral and
forward acceleration, shift indicator, oil and coolant
temperature, and clock),
shift lever in black Alcantara and chrome with
25-percent-shorter shifts,
motorsport-inspired bucket seats in black Alcantara,
aluminum pedals,
and decorative trim in carbon design around the interior.
While these parts are specifically for the European market, North America is expected to get some, too.
